Behind Their Own Back…
Over the past year specifically I’ve missed some things that are now becoming very apparent. There’s been a lot of curiosity coming from one side, but not much coming from me.
Now that I know what I know, there’s only one question that I’m curious about…
How does it feel when people start getting curious and looking around instead of only looking at me?
How does it feel to know people are talking about you when you aren’t in the room? Discussing your behavior, your motives, your words, your relationships, as though you’re a subject to analyze instead of a real person with real feelings.
How does it feel to wonder who is talking to whom, what they’re saying, what version of you is being passed around, and what negative thing might surface next?
Is it distracting?
Is it frustrating?
Does it make you angry?
Does it make you want to defend yourself?
Does it make you wonder who you can trust?
Because that feeling - exactly.🎯
The difference is that for a very long time, everyone was watching my reaction while almost nobody seemed interested in what kept causing it.
Now people are looking around.
And suddenly, being the topic of conversation doesn’t feel quite so harmless when you’re the one being discussed.
Who knew…
